Thanks for the tip Mike. I've called a gas technician and hopefully the old beast can be fixed. I'd like to try and keep my current oven, I'm rather attached to it! C

Thanks everyone for your help. Mike, the grill is leaking gas when it's not on, so I'm having to isolate the oven. This could have been going on for a while, I've just really noticed a gas smell in the last few weeks. I'm ploughing through various sites trying to find something suitable....... C

Hi My 30 year old gas oven is finally giving up on life and I am now looking at new single ovens to replace it, and probably a gas hob if it's not too expensive. I'm just not sure on the advantages/disadvantages of an LPG oven v an oven with a conversion kit. I am guessing that my current oven has a conversion kit on it, as it's a standard looking ancient old thing. Thanks for your help. Caroline
