Hi,
I'm having a bit of trouble with my Single lever control - An Ultraflex B183 - on our narrow boat, or it the cables
and to be honest I'm not sure which it is.
All's well until when its put in forward. the engines accelerates okay and it drops nicely into
drive. - We have Beta 43 & PRM Gearbox - but when we accelerate say to 1200- 1400 revs
the control lever handle will not stay and it starts to move back!!, and the Mensarb is starting to get really annoyed
with it now and I'm fed up of getting the scowling look a bit too often!!. But all's well in reverse no problems there.
We have tried adjusting the friction screw but doesn't help.
I'm pretty sure its one of the cables, I have had a good nose about and I think it maybe the gearbox one
as when its in the neutral postion if you increase the revs all is fine the lever stays where it is,
Any ideas how I can adjust the cable if that is the problem?.
I'm not a major mechanic but I can usually figure out how to do things but this
is really trying my patience
Just to add, I think the cables are about 18mnths old.
Thanks
Bonty
