Delighted to have a lengthy PM from Albion in my mailbox today, and also to see the other very swift posts on the topic in reply to my enquiry - #13 - of yesterday. Thank you all very much. My background is that I owned a Westerly Nomad for 10 years which was berthed at Rye, East Sussex. Although I am competent on open waters, I have come to prefer the Inland system now I am a little older, and am often single-handed. From Rye it is easy to cross to France, and I have spent lengthy, and very happy periods on the French waterways, eventually penetrating as far as the Med.. I let the Nomad go about 3 years ago, and have been regretting it ever since. Now I am wondering how I can have another go without necessarily going to the expense of owning my own boat. I am very reluctant just to become an armchair sailor after so many happy years. I recall the Yonne as being entrancingly beautiful.
