  1. This post cannot be displayed because it is in a forum which requires at least 10 posts to view.
  2. Delighted to have a lengthy PM from Albion in my mailbox today, and also to see the other very swift posts on the topic in reply to my enquiry - #13 - of yesterday. Thank you all very much. My background is that I owned a Westerly Nomad for 10 years which was berthed at Rye, East Sussex. Although I am competent on open waters, I have come to prefer the Inland system now I am a little older, and am often single-handed. From Rye it is easy to cross to France, and I have spent lengthy, and very happy periods on the French waterways, eventually penetrating as far as the Med.. I let the Nomad go about 3 years ago, and have been regretting it ever since. Now I am wondering how I can have another go without necessarily going to the expense of owning my own boat. I am very reluctant just to become an armchair sailor after so many happy years. I recall the Yonne as being entrancingly beautiful.

Cruising the waterways of France is what occupies my mind day and night

  4. I have just joined canalworld.net and am interested in your topic on the Yonne, Auxerre etc.. You may like to see my posting tonight - no. 13 I think on the topic.

  5. I was very interested to read these posts about the Yonne, Paris, Migennes and Auxerre, all of which I have visited by boat over the last 5 years. I have only just discovered Canalworld.net, and this is my 6th post since joining as a member yesterday. I would be very interested to meet other members through the Forums who share my interest in French waterways. Does anyone out there know approx what proportion of the members here may be interested in foreign cruising, or is this site principally devoted to UK Inland waterways?
  6. I am told I need 5 posts to my credit before I am allowed to enter the Chat Room. So this should be the 5th since I joined yesterday. Fingers crossed and let's see what's happening.
  7. Many thanks. I'll give it a try. If I knew how to send smillies (is that the word?) I would certainly add those. J Here we go. My 5th post since joining. J
  8. Sorry. Don't follow. What is the 5 post rule. What are PM's? Regards, and thanks anyway.
  9. I can't get into the Chat Room. Is it me or the system do you think. I would be fascinated to find out what it is, anyway, and how it differs from the Forums. Just joined - second post ever. Can anyone out there help?!
  10. I have just joined and this is my 1st post. I see there is a Chat room, but when I press that option the response is always that there is a fault and I cannot have access. Can anyone help?
