  1. We've been riveting here at Brinklow for many, many years now. Both Steve, Simon and myself have incorporated traditional techniques including riveting into new 'remakes' of various styles...not to mention an untold number of historic craft. Riveting is, as has been pointed out, a dying art but there are situations where nothing else would do the job and so for now, there are a few of us remaining who can do it. I wouldn't like to put a figure on building a new riveted working boat...although it would need some incredibly deep pockets!!
  2. I believe £60 is the current asking price. Not including delivery 😉
  3. Yes, still afloat as of this time last year.
  4. Now now girls, are our cycles clashing?
  5. A regular sight at the Braunston Rallies of years gone by... https://www.norton-canes.co.uk/boat-sales-brokerage/joseph/
  6. Ooh look, some sand...where's my head?
  7. Failure to maintain lock gates, cills, back pumps...the list goes on. That's before we get onto the lack of dredging... But no, easier to lay the entire blame on a lack of water rather than the mismanagement of what water there is.
  8. I think you'll find it's due to CRT incompetence but yes, low water levels are ultimately what affects this decision.
  9. That very much depends upon what work you're planning to undertake, most day to day jobs don't require anything that large but if you want to take the whole engine apart then yes, a full set of combination spanners is rather vital.
  10. Already been done ✔️
  11. HRW3, fitted under George Wains stewardship. Goes like stink!!
  12. Sshhh...it only says Colecraft four times in the advert, perhaps he missed it 😉
