  1. Thanks vicafloat, appreciated. I’m on the wrong side of the breach (L&L) to reach either of those boatyards.
  2. Hello vicafloat, Where did you get your boat grit blasted? Thanks, RAP
  3. This post cannot be displayed because it is in a forum which requires at least 10 posts to view.
  4. You are safe to drill in the white area. Make sure you do not drill through the silver connector which can seen in your photo.
  5. Most flexi panels come pre drilled with eyelets, mine did. Mine are Topsolar, 180w, again from Amazon. If you need to drill new eyelets then make sure they’re on the outer edge away from the solar element.
  6. I have used rubberised magnet mounts from Amazon. They are 40mm in diameter with a 6mm thread which fits nicely through the solar panel eyelet. I have two flexible panels held down with 6 magnets each. Have not moved in 2 years. Also used stainless steel domed nuts on the threads. See pic attached.
  7. The stove installation is a potential BSS fail. I believe it needs to have at least 150mm non combustible material in front of the stove to catch any falling embers. Overall, the boat appears to have been finished ‘lazy/easy fit/build/cheap’, but could be made to look and feel very comfortable.
  8. Sounds good. However, would need to hear more when fully warmed up and also under load.
  9. I have used Vactan and Aquasteel previously but have found Owatrol to be a far more reliable and better product.

    Oil pressure JP2

My JP3 is a 1944 stationary engine, and runs at 11 psi when fully warmed up and running at about 550rpm with Morris SAE30. The pressure is measured digitally. The crank was re-ground and new white metal shells made by Splitpin (a Gardner specialist) of this parish in 2016.

  12. My Lister JP3 averages 1.25 litres per hour.
  13. Quite possibly the latter, made up by the estate agent.
  14. Halfway Lock Cottage was last offered to the market in July 2018, with a sitting tenant. Asking price was in excess of £135k. I don’t believe it sold, possibly due to the tenants and the radio masts putting off potential purchasers.
  15. I have the Bluetti AC180. Priced at £699.00 plus the Renogy portable 200w solar panel priced at £199.00 for charging; it runs all of my power tools from orbital sander, table saw through to an uprated Henry vacuum cleaner. I’m not ready for a 240v set up yet, therefore this portable set up serves me very well. It’s an excellent piece of kit coupled with an impressive app to monitor and control the device.
