I will not go into specifics but as far as we are concerned this isn't the end. It's not even halfway to the end! However the advice from our solicitors is not to throw good money after bad!

Might I state that as the affected couple we are not the only "victims" and will become apparent in a future blog post. After spending £25,000 on legal expenses just to get what remains of our boat we see little point in pursuing the limited liability company which; from it's financial records at Companies House; is insolvent. However we want to ensure there is sufficient material this time to warn the potential customer should this couple re-appear in the industry. As for shell builders not supplying to this type of boat fitters. Well, they also get burned! We know; because it has happened to the customer after us!

I will continue to post the full story to our blog (nb Waiouru)not only so people will know what happened, but also in an effort to ensure others don't get deceived by this contemptible couple whose actions have the potential to bring fear and uncertainty to potential purchasers of new boats. We have been greatly heartened by the comments of support since we made our situation public on our blog. Whilst with hindsight you can look a fool being deceived; I think it's more important others be aware of this nefarious couple.

There are at least four affected people including myself (nb Waiouru). Dank of db Trudy-Ann, the owners of the boat ahead of ours (boat isn't to specification, failed it completion safety examination, and is full of defects). Finally, there is the poor person after us who has paid Ben Harp in full for his shell but Ben Harp hasn't paid the shell builder (highly unlikely he ever will!). This customer has lost all his money!

I've corrected the blog date/time stamp. It was set for Adelaide, South Australia and now configured for GMT. As for Ben Harp Narrowboats...... Well I'll continue to post what happened on our blog <here>. This is more than malicious damage. Ignored orders from a High Court Judge in the Admiralty Court, London; modifications to the boat to sell it on to an unsuspecting buyer as a sailway, theft, etc.

This situation is appalling. How do boat builders get away with it? Is Trading Standards a toothless wonder? If there are actually safety defects in the construct is it possible to report them to the Health and Safety Authorities and have them fined or prosecuted for a life threatening hazard!
