  1. There's a much simpler way of doing this avoiding complicated arithmetic. Here's how. Fill up the tank to the top, then syphon it all out again into cans, then place it back into the tank by a half pint at a time with a half pint glass counting them all and jotting each one down on paper then by adding them all up you will obtain the correct answer if you don't spill much. Simples.
  2. The lumpiness he mentioned is possibly an outer bearing track not shoved fully home on it's seat and so not quite square on to the taper roller race.
  3. Ideally. A solid hardwood board is the thing, like knotless Mahogany. Apart from the strain on them whilst tacking and going about they are also often stood upon to help right a capsized dinghy.
  4. Playing mobile phones. Some folk can't stay still whilst on the phone, they wander about willy nilly. A while ago one of our moorers did this and walked into our Southmill lock. He climbed out alright but the phone drowned.

  8. Oh dear. I've gone and lost the key for it, so back to laptop.
  9. We now have wretched smart phones and social media to thank for the loss of banters, not to mention nice hobbies ie hand crafts ect most hobby shops have now gone, all due to bl--dy phones. The hobby is now phones. Phones are also the reason why posts on here have shrunk by quite a lot. It's hard having to prod at those little buttons to post and to reply.
