  1. Sorry I cannot help with faulting that unit other than to say it does look like yet another ebay scam. I would be looking to send it back to the vendor.
  2. My Evolution vacuum cleaner has two filters as well. A standard dust filter and a foam thing that is put over the cage with the ball in it to prevent spray into the motor.
  3. Also remove that pipe insulation and have a look under that. There is green verdidris poking out from under that and that could be where the leak is if there is a leak.
  4. Mine used to do that especially if the boat had been stood for without starting the engine for a while. My boat had a BMC 1.5 that also smoked a bit on initial startup. I no longer have a boat so this was a while back.
  5. I use Makita and Katsu that uses Makita batteries but, toolwise, is much cheaper. I have used Makita for a number of years and use both Makita, stupidly expensive, batteries and the, much cheaper, chinese copy batteries. I have never had a battery fire but am aware of that danger but having said that the Makita batteries can go up in flames just as easily as the chinese copies. I have just bought a new Makita cordless drill and it does not seem to be as good quality as the one that I have had for 6 years.
  6. And was still running as sweet as a nut when I sold it.
  7. Personally I wouldn't part ex it at all. Just sell it and when you get the money go and look for something you want. It will probably take a bit longer to sell but you have a nice boat to mess about in until it is sold and because it is a nice boat it will sell.
  8. Well I had a GRP boat, a Shetland. That had an outboard and a red petrol container, two in fact, that were stored in a cubby under the cockpit floor. that passed two BSS checks whilst it was in my ownership. They were proper red, plastic petrol tanks so whether they were sealed against any leakage or whatever I do not know.
  9. I had a 3 way fridge on my narrowboat. Mine was gas connected if I remember rightly. It was along time ago and I no longer have that boat so I cannot remember any details.
  10. But both are as dead as doornails these days. I lived there for 30 odd years until I moved back to Wales in 2021 (bad move but that's another story) and had a couple of boats moored in Goole marina. The magnificent thing about living in that area was that York, the finest medieval city in the UK in my opinion although stupidly expensive, was within striking distance although all the decent shops have gone from there as well now.

    DVD Player

By the time you have decided on which one to buy you might as well buy a new telly with integrated DVD player, what you want is not a whole lot less than a new telly. Plenty on Amazon both 12 volt and 240 volt. Buying a separate DVD player means separate power requirements.
  12. I had a 30 foot trad stern narrowboat that could accomodate 4. It had a convertable double in the front cabin and a couch affair in the galley that converted into a bunk. I wouldn't have lived in it to be honest but then I wouldn't live on any narrow or wide beam boat, I'm afraid I like my bricks and mortar way too much but it just shows what can be achieved.
  13. I didn't say it was ffs. Keep your hair on whats left of it. Good grief people come on here for advice and then when they get it they get all manky. Or some of the older posters, some even who used to be nice guys. get their knickers in a twist. No wonder there are only regulars on here. I was remarking on that picture FFS, READ.
  14. Not sure if this is relevant but that fire will cause a lot of moisture in the inside of the boat which might have contributed somewhat to that warping.
  15. Hi all Happy New Year. Most of you have probably seen this but it's the first time I have seen it. Very interesting documentary.
