andybarrett1 Posted May 25, 2013 Report Posted May 25, 2013 Hello All Having just had my Vetus WCL loo have a replacement upgrade fitted at a cost just short off £400 .... I find that it is totally useless to the point of not using it at all ... Back to the cassette ! Is there any reason it could be so totally useless. All I have done to refit is reconnect water in, power 12v and black water out ... Does it need priming in some way, could there be an air lock ... ?? I called Kings Lock earlier to ask some advice ... They fitted it .., but I find they are all at Crick .. Meanwhile I am up the Creek !!! BR Andy

BR Andy Hi Andy Cassette and porta potti type bogs are quite simply the ONLY sensible choice for use on any form of inland boat. Carting half a ton of crap about in a large tank is quite simply stupidity and a great waste of storage space. Get a cassette and job done. Tim

Phoenix_V Posted May 26, 2013 Report Posted May 26, 2013 Ours didnt work when the little one way valve set on a plastic stalk coming out of the back top of the pump fell off, though I didnt think the newer ones have this, worth a look though
Biggles Posted May 26, 2013 Report Posted May 26, 2013 (edited) This might help. It's fixed mine. Linky1 Linky2 Hope it helps. If you get any back flow then put in an additional one way valve. Edited May 26, 2013 by Biggles
andybarrett1 Posted May 27, 2013 Author Report Posted May 27, 2013 Update to original question... The rains came in at Chester so took opportunity of taking the whole lot apart again.... I found the outlet at the back had a one way flap valve, this was getting fouled by the action of connecting the Vetus sanitary outlet pipe and associated coupling... Just the action of moving the coupling pipe a little further back restored working operation.... Rain does help sometimes :-) BR Andy
