I have used garage floor paint on Tawny.

First point - it doesn't stick very well so it's a good idea to paint the surface with a coat of proper paint first

Secondly - it's not going to stick on bitumen, so it's not going to work 'down to the water level'.

I wouldn't use it for anything that has to look good, so decks and insides of cockpits are fine, pretty bits are not

I use the International garage floor paint on the roof, cratch floor, rear deck and have done a test strip in the engine hole, which is holding up very well. Never tried it on any other areas, but can say it is good on the roof.

Would this kind of thing:

work to be painted from the gunwales down to the water level.

It should be good hardwearing stuff. Or am I missing something?

Thanks

It may work - - but why not telephone International Paint technical department and ask them?

(AFAIK - this paint was designed to bond with concrete and brick - not mild steel)

Definitely needs a primer under it on bare steel. I rubbed the old paintwork down with a random orbital, and it stuck fine on that (over 3 years now.) Dead easy to recoat when looking tired, and dries quickly.

Really well, we used the mini roller and brushes, no issues. Finished her Sunday but I did some test areas 6 months ago and it has held fine, I also used vactan then hammerite in the gas locker, looks fine after 9 months.

Cheers. Will try some in the lockers :)
