Hello there, I wonder could anyone shed some light on a problem that I am having with the now infamous Mikuni mx40, the problem is that the unit fires up ok but there is little or no heat coming from the matrix, I have checked all the obvious things, but I am now baffled, any help would be appreciated......

I think you'll need to give us some more information. Firstly, I don't really understand "the matrix" - the MX40 is a water heater, so do you mean no heat to your radiators?

Secondly, how does the unit behave. So it fires up OK, you hear the fan and fuel pump click rate going up to max at the end of the start cycle, then what? Does it continue at max rate, or does it shut to half rate and then shut off? If it continues at max rate, either there is heat going somewhere, or there is a fuel supply problem.

Is it just me, or do others find it irritating when someone new comes along, asks a totally vague question, and then doesn't bother to respond when asked for a bit more detail. I'll know not to bother if there is a next question. This does seem to happen relatively often though.

I think it's fair to expect a response. I think it's good form for an OP to stay active in a thread that they've started, or possibly end with a thanks. Oh well, carry on with something else is my response, if all goes silent. Nothing much else to do, it may not be rudeness. intentionally.
