Chris Pink Posted April 17, 2013 Report Posted April 17, 2013 I know of a couple who are looking for a boat sitter for a traditional pair in the summer, mid june for a month or so. This is not a beginner's gig at all, nor is it very likely to be suitable for a single person. No money involved but I am told a practical frame of mind will be needed and "preference will definitely be extended to those with paintbrush skills". PMs please.
Janet S Posted April 18, 2013 Report Posted April 18, 2013 Oh if only we hadn't used up all our holidays! Janet
GUMPY Posted April 18, 2013 Report Posted April 18, 2013 So they want people to come and paint the boat and fix any problems they find and For This they will provide free accommodation
Janet S Posted April 18, 2013 Report Posted April 18, 2013 Seems a fair swap to me. When you don't have a boat of your own but you're addicted to boating, you'll take just about any chance you can to get afloat! Janet 1

No money changing hands means no complications, for any body with the time and a bit of experience...
Starcoaster Posted April 18, 2013 Report Posted April 18, 2013 Have you asked Caprifool? He may not have spotted this post, he's boat-sat for a few forum members that I know of.

Starcoaster Posted April 18, 2013 Report Posted April 18, 2013 I did catch that bit but I thought there might be wiggle room in the 'very likely' bit, depending on the person, and that he might be worth asking. If it's not a match, no harm, no foul!
cheshire~rose Posted April 18, 2013 Report Posted April 18, 2013 I have to admit Caprifool was my first thought but the "beginner" added to the "single person" combined for me to think again .... huge pity really but then maybe he can team up with someone else?
luctor et emergo Posted April 18, 2013 Report Posted April 18, 2013 To be honest, the looking after the boats, and probably moving once or twice, in return for the accomodation, is fair. Expecting to paint aswel is a bit naughty.. 1

Caprifool Posted April 19, 2013 Report Posted April 19, 2013 Hmmm......sorry, I'm booked for mid June already And even if I wasn't, I feel I lack the experience for this type of equipage. Marvellous opportunity for the right person though!
