Come the 14th March we are leaving the sanctuary of our winter moorings on the Rufford and taking Islonian down to Brentford with a few detours en-route.

Yes I know we could have waited until the traditional end of March start but there's a couple leaving at the same time and heading the same way as us and they have done the Manchester route on many occasions. So we offered to help with the heavy locks and learn a few things along the way.

If you do happen to see us give us wave cheers.gif

.....but we have heard that London is full, (over 2000 boats, end to end)(quote IWA) and there are gangs of nasty boaters at Brentford waving big sticks at anyone who comes past Bulls Bridge.(quote NBW)

Coming down to visit his parents and family, and hopefully hang around for your banterette. Plans keep changing all the time but the current thought is to go down the Thames and up to Oxford (that don't sound right blink.gif).

Do not pass down the Southern Grand Union, there be dragons down here.

Honestly.

Great ! We will harness the fire power to heat the water for showers!cheers.gif

Which way are you going, Wigan, Mancheter, Marple then the Macc?

Yep that's the plan with a few detours on the way.

Take your time as Barton Bridge is shut and only reopens on Saturday 23rd March at 12 noon.

Steve

Yep taken into account......................going to be a few days chilling here and there.

I'm around the Bridgewater area if you hit a problem and find yourself in urgent need of something. Are you going to do a blog or just keep updating here? I like a good blogger.

Not intending to do a blog though I am on Twitter so I may tweet at the end of the day and post a few pics. We are however on gps and will update our position on Water Explorer.

Thanks for the offer of help if we need it though. That's what I like about this place..........always someone there when/if you need them.

Well I wont be there to wave as you go past as I have had to go down to my Mother's so will ask Stan to give double wave. I have enjoyed both your company while I have been in the area. Have a good trip hope I have left enough room for you to get on Lock Landing by Lock 7!!!!

Have a great trip. Its been fun saying hello and waving/shouting across the marina. We will be setting off from Rufford, after the Liverpool trip with the other seven boats, but this year the destination is Bedford. Give us a wave when you pass. I'm sure we will meet up again.
