Have just bought the above modem with antenna!

The antenna cable is very short I need to extend, does anyone know of a source of TS9 male to TS9 female extension cables looking for about 2M max.

Why do you need an extension Charge the unit and move the dongle where ever you want it. We have one of these and providing its fully charged it can go with me including the car. And in the car I can put it on charge there as its connection is a mini usb which is exactly the same as HWMBO phone.

E586 doesn't have an external aerial socket, unless the latest model has been updated but I doubt it.

No you are quite correct it doesn't. Still don't understand the need to extend when its technically wireless,

E386 has the socket
The advantage is you can place the antenna outside the boat, link the router by USB get faster soeed and charge at the same time

I have one with an external socket. Got my aerial from boaters phone company. While it worked, it was great, but the fitting was very loose, and constantly fell out. I stuffed it trying to tighten up the connection. Now my huawei is in for repairs :(

Oh, and it is the 586, but not the very latest

Handy to have an aerial outside on the roof, improves reception and saves having to position mifi in a window and swapping sides at different locations. Ones with a socket are available.

just checked Maplin & they don't seem to have it. Well, not unless they call it something other than a TS9 male to TS9 female cable!

It is the external antenna cable I wish to extend! Currently the unit is hanging in the cratch with the antenna on the roof, hardly ideal

Very sorry the unit is E586Es It does have a socket! I bought it with Antenna and its currently what I am using to post this! It would just be useful to extend the Antenna cable!

I have looked on the net, checked Maplins just hoped someone might be aware of a specialist supplier!

They must do different models then. Maybe the "E" is a clue. The one provided by 3 that I have does not have a socket

Yes you're right it does have a socket, Huawei used to do that model with what was often mistaken for an aerial socket, seens to be a new model, handy bit of kit.

Dunno but we have the old 585 model and it goes like the clappers, great for slipping into your pocket when out and about, saves mucking about with unreliable and difficult to access wifi hotspots, just create your own.
