I will keep in touch. I don't want Hubby to single hand and we have to be there by the 21st.

I have to come down the Caen hill flight next Monday 16th (or at a push Tuesday) afterall, as I won't be able to get the time off for another few weeks afterwards...

I am currently moored between lock 50 and 49, and will bring the boat down to 44 on the Sunday 15th, ready for an early start on Monday.

Sue, are you leaving Crofton on the 16th? It is a day travel to Devizes, if so, I could wait untill Tuesday (although I don't know if Patrick can help on the Tuesday)

Yes I can so long as you let me know

I can probably turn up twice, give notice by say tomorrow afternoon, and ideally some flexibility of Sue's husband is going down later in the week, as my boss has a habit of ringing mid week and asking for my presence in London or Reading the next day.

That said, cearly it would be easier for all concerned to share if that's practical

Do you still fancy the trip down The Bristol Channel from Sharpness and the start of the Avon at Bristol looks like being the second week of September spoke to the Pilot yesterday.

Crew made better time than expected (mainly because they couldn't find anywhere to moor) so stopped at Little Bedwyn last night. Aiming for top of Caen hill for Sunday start as probably have the opportunity of another crew volunteer. More the better.

I can't get to the boat early enough on Sunday to go down the flight on Sunday.

Looks like Monday for me then.

I won't be getting to the boat at any reasonable time today...

I was going to go to the boat, after dropping the SIL off at his new digs. Sometime around lunch hopefully. Then recontiore and move my boat a few locks down, ready for the morning.

Oh well, we were not going to leave untill the afternoon. Ok, I can adapt, I get to the boat around tea timeish.. I can move the boat in the evening.

Ahh, no. The little one decides to throw a tantrum, and refuses to go in the back of the car, and feins sickness. OH has had enough, and decides to drive herself after all, whilst I stay at home with the little horror bundle of joy.

And that, means a big problem. I know, that the OH will not get back at any reasonable time now, using/inventing any possible excuse to screw up the remainder of my day....

No public transport to get me to the boat today either.

So it will be a very early start tomorrow morning.

Single life is looking more welcoming by the day...

Hi Sue

Whats your boat called I will try to watch out for you. We are moored just after Devises Marina. Green boat on the left.

Val

Sorry I missed this post. On boat with only phone connection. We got down the flight in very good time with Magpie Patricks friend helping and another. We also had another boat with us that knew what they were doing - so a good trip.
