Kings Lynn to Boston via the Wash

I am seriously considering using the Wash as a shortcut from the Fens to get further north without going back up the Nene to Northampton and using the GU.

 

We are currently on the Great Ouse in the Fens and are thinking of going past Salters Lode up the tidal to Kings Lynn and then waiting for the right weather to make

a short hop round the coast to Wisbech and then on another suitable day, around again to Boston.

 

I'm not worried about the boating side of it and we're sufficiently experienced and equipped to handle it.

 

I just wondered if anybody on here has actually done it ??

Plenty, but not on a narrow boat, though. Some days it's like a mill pond.

 

I love the Wash and wanted to base the lifeboat at wisbech, but was outvoted (I didn't realise swmbo had two votes).
