Snibble,
I would very much appreciate the dynostart test procedure. I'm working through electrical issues (seriously considering a before and after photo series on hacked up 40 year old wiring) where the battery does not charge properly. thanks, Paul |

![]() How's that then? Snibble.Just discovered this forum and have signed on some days ago. I do not know a whole lot about electric etc. I have a Bosch Dynostart plus Bosh alternator on a Bukh 10 engine. Alternator not working. I am interested in your sketch diagram and would be greatful if you can let me know the spec of the replacement reg and perhaps explain the additional link Best regards Tom |

Hello Tom.
I'll get the details of my regulator later on today and post them for you. This post helped me a great deal and my DV10 has been running like a dream since then. Cheers, Ben Snibble.Just discovered this forum and have signed on some days ago. I do not know a whole lot about electric etc. I have a Bosch Dynostart plus Bosh alternator on a Bukh 10 engine. Here is that image I failed to link to properly last time.

Ben Many thanks for that info and such a quick reply. I spoke with the agent here in Irl for the durite reg you advised and was surprised when he got back to me saying it was discontinued. Can you advise where you got yours and perhaps I can try them, Again Many Thanks... Tom |

Local auto electrical dealer or branch of Lucas service. CARGO part number 130047. Important thing is that it's an 11A reg, more and you risk burning out the dynastart. The additional link is the interconnection of the separate solenoid and reg in order to give the regulator its battery +ve connection. -------------------- Too old to rock 'n' roll, too young to die.

Snibble, I would very much appreciate the dynostart test procedure. I'm working through electrical issues (seriously considering a before and after photo series on hacked up 40 year old wiring) where the battery does not charge properly. thanks, Paul Dynastart system tests. Remove belt. Connect bulb or voltmeter from D+ to earth. Disconnect DF lead. Operate start control, motor should spin and 12V appear on voltmeter (or bulb light). Lack of reading or lamp indicates supply fault, failure to spin when supply is present indicates motor fault. With motor spinning, earth DF terminal. Motor should abruptly slow with momentary increase of voltage or bulb brightness. Failure of either indicates motor fault. Reconnect DF at motor and re try both tests at the regulator end. (Lamp/meter on regulator D+ terminal and disconnecting regulator DF) Failure indicates wiring fault. Common dynastart failure is in the field coils, there should be a resistance of 4-6 ohms between D+ and DF on the unit with wiring disconnected. -------------------- Too old to rock 'n' roll, too young to die.
