Having had the pleasure of lockwheeling with both Barry & Jan before now I am green with envy that I am not there to help. With Patrick as well - you got the icing on the cake there and I suspect the locks will be done in record time

Five boats, first one entered the top lock at noon, the last one left the bottom lock at four. I reckon that is fair going!

I'm back at mum and dad's (near lock 7) a little bit knackered but have thoroughly enjoyed it. Set the top four for them as I walked up, worked the top lock five times, joined the last boat down.

We got to an empty pound between 11 and 10, because "some fool had left a paddle up" (that would be me getting the top half of the flight ready then?) then I switched to the lead boat and suddenly found myself single handing as Kev went back to help the others. It is a while since I single handed through locks

Barry and Jan were great, Paul, Kev and the entire team were great. We left the residents between Marple Aqueduct and Rose Hill Tunnel.

Whoo hoo, what a great day!

Paul, when do you reckon you'll get to the Rochdale nine?

John, we are hoping to get down the Ashton tomorrow to Piccadilly and then crack on with the 9 on Friday morning.

Barry, Jan and Patrick... once again, thank you so much for your help. You were all the difference between an enjoyable day and a real slog... even if I did get sent to make the tea :)

Hi Paul,

You'll most likely be coming past me at some point between Waters Meeting at Stretford and Preston Brook. I'll be out trading on Ariel & Joe. Look forward to seeing the fleet go past :)

Starting down the ashton flight in the morning hoping to go right through to castlefield . Locks starting to take their toll now look forward to getting back on Bridgewater.

well have you finished the trip or have you got lost in Manchester

:) finished it on Saturday. Unfortunately the mobile broadband dongle gave up and I've had to catch up on all the boring office based stuff here this week. Blog will be updated shortly but the short version is:

Thursday - Set off from Marple. Met Barry again at the top of the Ashton flight and Patrick further down. Was down the Ashton flight and moored at Picadilly Basin by about 4:30 ish. Quite noisy there compared to when I have moored at Castlefield and one boat got untied in the night. Barry stayed with us overnight and helped us down the Rochdale 9.

Friday - Started down the Rochdale 9. Got to the lock after the one you have to stay on the boat for and the pound after that was dry. CRT blokes were there about 5 mins later. Left Castlefield at midday ish. As soon as we left it started raining and didn't stop until we tied up in Lymm.

Saturday - Short 3 hour run back to base and then home to have a sit down.

Was back in work Sunday to send out another 2 boats.

Passed Aquaduct marina this week & noticed Moore hall tied up all sad & alone how come she has stay? More bookings on her??

No, Moore Hall has been retired from the fleet.

The good news is that I had a very productive meeting today with a sponsor to provide us with two new boats and let us do a complete referb on the existing boat they have with us.

That's excellent news Paul well done. Sorry to see Moore ha retired I quite like that boat but it needed refurbing!

Glad to hear about you getting 2 new sponsor boats.. When will theses be operating in the fleet?

Moore hall was the 1st boat we hired, she had many little "quirks" but still got us hooked, so much so we now have our own boat! We saw Moore Hall a few times over the summer and had a little smile! Fond memories but i think, unless, work was undertaken on her, the best thing really! I hope she can in some way provide her current or future owners with many hours of happiness!

Called into Aquaduct to see a mate on his boat and see moore hall on the brokerage there. Its up for 21k not a bad boat for a starter boat. Many happy and fond memories onboard moore hall.

I found my likeing to the town of Lymm On Bridgewater on board moore hall. Weere we moored for 2 nights there on 4 night trip.
