The previous email was about widebeams.... I've just emailed asking whether I can transfer the booking to 2014. Hope you all enjoy yourselves.

smiley_offtopic.gif Chris, I believe that Trevor with "Corona" has a record of having done them all, but, (no disrespect to him!), he is not getting any younger. Do you know if he is on the list for this year, please? (He has my extreme admiration for his previous record, even if he is not!....)

Yes Alan, Trevor will be there.

There are a couple who have done all BUT Mr Maggs is the only person to do them all in the same boat !

an enviable record

Just hope there aren't any breasted up mooring allocations after 32. Its just soggy ground and mooring pins are pulling out as boats go past.

Had to re-tie the widebeam on mooring 35 this morning as it was full across the canal. Few opportunities to tie through the edge iron supports, but managed to cobble something up for my own boat.

Had a lovely day at the festival yesterday, and once again didn't (knowingly!) see anyone from the forum! rolleyes.gif We did notice Ecky Thump as we passed on the towpath as we were making our way home - what a beautiful boat! wub.png - but by then we were a little footsore and just wanted to get the kids back to the boat for their tea.

Going again today - looking forward to seeing our friends Bill & Michelle & co this afternoon:

Hope to see some CWDF people, but once again I expect we will be occupied with the kids / buying ice creams, candy floss, and rides in the fun-fair! icecream.gif Anyway, "party on and be excellent to each other, dudes!" cheers.gif

Sickle is at 4B, hidden away behind the Chesterfield canal Trust's "Python". Come and say hello - even if we are not there, given how they worked liked Trojan's yesterday Jan & Dave (Cheshire Rose & Postcode) with Python are I think almost guaranteed to be!

Just got back home and would like to say what a BRILLIANT weekend it was. The sun shone, the beer flowed, old friends met, new friends made. I'd like to thank the organising committee for once again putting on a great show- and of course all the boaters for doing what boaters do best- having a great time!

I'd especially like to say thanks to the tug of war commentators Chris and Adrian and to John Brice for managing to keep everything (especially those two) under a semblance of control. Well done everybody, roll on 2014!!! Jack

This was a classic case of a heavy disconnect between rotten weather forecasts approaching the event, and the gorgeous weekend we actually got dealt.

Pay little attention to weather forecasts people - that's my advice!

Another blinder, and I managed to get a lift on sickle, which made me happy:) it was great to meet Alan, Cath and Jan and Dave. If anyone has a magnet, I know where a nice watch might be....

And Chris B as well, top work matey !

Great to meet a few new CWDFers in the flesh for the first time, (By 'Eck, Wanted & Leni, for example - and no doubt some I've forgotten, or am wrongly thinking I have met previously).

Also plenty we already have met, of course.

The first time we have been by boat, and we had a great time.

Desperately hoping some pictures of Sickle in action may turn up, but I'm starting to wonder if any will, so, please, please, if you have anything at all.......)

In the meantime a quick trawl of Flickr did find this, which at least proves we moved, even if it looks like I'm trying to turn where there wasn't enough space, (there was, but only just!).

It credits to Robin Kemp (dehavillandimages), so I'm hoping he'll not mind me posting a link to his album here.....

I've got loads Alan, but haven't managed to upload them yet as it took us all day to get home yesterday :) PM me your email if you like and I'll send them all over! I'll try to upload the best ones somewhere too :)
