It looks like this stoppage on the Leeds and Liverpool Canal Leigh Branch in Wigan will be lifted soon as the area is back in water and dredging was in progress this morning.

You need a certified gas person every time, it's not worth the risk.

Could anyone advise what the current water levels are like. Usually there is no shortage of water and I wondered if this was still the case after the recent heat waves.

Tricia There are 5 lots of moorings in the Crooke area which are:- 1. Crooke Cruising Club 2. Crooke Hall Inn 3. The allotments. 4. Crooke Marina (in the marina and the canal frontage) 5. The old Royal Oak pub. Have a look at the Association of Waterway Cruising Clubs website for other boat clubs in the area. You will also find Wheelton Boat Club have moorings near where you live. Search for moorings and boat licence information on the Canal and River Trust website. As others have said go and talk to the boaters on the moorings for the most up to date information. Good luck.
